A Word from Our Chairman
As the chairperson of Bangladesh Youth Movement I am delighted and honoured to be writing this welcome for an organization that has been successful in representing and campaigning for the Bangladeshi Community for over three decades. We have been catering for the needs of women, girls, youth, children and the elderly from our dedicated projects.
We have been going from strength to strength and are one of the few charity organizations which have young people and ex-service users making up the committee. BYM is currently going through major policy review and restructuring in order to become more effective in its delivery of services and become more streamlined in meeting local and national standards. Our staff, volunteers, young people and management committee have regular dialogue and exposure to ensure that we maximize all levels of communication.
The future is bright for BYM; we already are one of the longest standing BME charities, we have a young, dynamic and experienced and MC team, we are working with new partners, increasing funds and updating our style of work and solidifying our long term vision. Although there is much more work to be done, we are optimistic that with the love, support and encouragement from the community we will succeed in putting BYM on the map as a pioneering organisation which places “people and opportunities” at its heart.
Finally, I would like to thank our management committee members and staff for their support and hard work.
